Population Genomes to Precision Public Health

Dr Vinod Scaria spoke at the 45th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Human Genetics on Population Genomics for Precision Public Health. 

The conference was organised at the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai under the auspices of the Indian Society of Human Genetics. 

Dr Scaria detailed how population scale genomics couod provide useful insights into the genetic epidemiology of clinically actionable variants and how this could potentially drive the development of cost effective, affordable and accessible genetic Diagnostics. 


Salient features of population datasets from across Asia was discussed, including from Malaysia, Qatar Genomes and Exomes , South Asian Genomes and Exomes and from the recently concluded IndiGen programme on population scale genomes from India were discussed.
