A two day programme on Genomics in Clinics was jointly organised by JIPMER and CSIR-IGIB on 28th and 29th January 2020 at JIPMER Puducherry
The programme included a one day Continuous Medical Education on Application of Genomics in Clinics and a hands on programme on Exome Sequence Analysis and Interpretation for Clinicians
The nuances of application of Genomics in clinical settings and interpretation of data as per the recent guidelines were discussed.
The meeting was organised as part of the ongoing collaboration between the two premier institutes in broader areas of Genomics and Diseaee biology and expected to impact patient care , education and research.
CSIR Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology through its research programmes in Genomics has been working closely with a number of clinical and teaching centres across the country as part of the GUaRDIAN initiative on Rare Disease Genomics making it one of the largest network of clinicians working in the area and accelerating translation of Genomics in clinical care in India
The workshop and educational outreach was supported by an unrestricted grant to CSIR IGIB from Sanofi Genzyme.
